Wandala
Village – June 12, 2013
I was invited to speak at an evangelistic
meeting at Wandala Village. This meeting took place after a seminar we did
earlier in the evening in Babu Sabu. We left Babu Sabu at about
8:30 and traveled to Wandala Village arriving at about 9:30 at night.
300 people were gathered for this meeting.
This is a regular monthly event for the church of about 30-40 families. When we
arrived, we were paraded up the aisle and showered with flower petals. I was
asked to speak at about 9:40 that night for about 50 minutes.
We experienced numerous power outages during
the meeting which left us completely in the dark with no microphones. I
spoke on Paul's prayer for the Ephesians. There were a number of
children present. Many were sitting in the front. Some of them seemed to find
great delight at throwing stones at my bare feet while a preached.
After preaching, we were presented with a
floral garland as a token of appreciation. There was a Muslim present at the
meeting. He was invited to come forward and present us with his own garland. He
did so as a token of his respect for us as "servant's of God".
Believers present applauded his willingness to greet us in this way.
